The San Francisco 49ers face a challenging few weeks ahead as they will be without fullback Kyle Juszczyk due to a knee injury sustained in their recent victory over the Denver Broncos. Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Juszczyk suffered a hyperextended knee with a bone bruise, sidelining him for a few weeks.

This injury not only affects Juszczyk but also impacts the 49ers’ offensive strategy. Known for his contributions over the past decade, including selections to the last 10 Pro Bowls, Juszczyk’s absence will require adjustments. Shanahan mentioned that tight ends George Kittle, Luke Farrell, and Brayden Willis will collectively fill the void, with Willis taking a bulk of snaps traditionally handled by Juszczyk.

Additionally, the 49ers will be without safety Marques Sigle, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the same game. Sigle has been impactful in his second NFL season, showing significant improvement and versatility in both run and pass defenses. His recovery could take three to six weeks. Malik Mustapha will step in during Sigle’s absence alongside Ji’Ayir Brown.

Another concern for the team is cornerback Upton Stout, who encountered an AC sprain in his shoulder during the game against the Broncos. Although he is listed as day-to-day, his availability adds to the team’s defensive concerns. The team might need to reorganize their secondary, potentially increasing roles for Deommodore Lenoir and rookie Ephesians Prysock.
